Occlusal plane inclination
- Hypererupted canine. To obtain a straight occlusal plane, use a segmented arch and a cantilever spring.
- Selective intrusion of the lower right canine. The .019x.025 TMA intrusive arch produces an intrusive force on the canine, an extrusive force on the molar and an hourly moment on the molar, enabling straightening.
- Levelling of the inferior plane was achieved by segmenting the arch distal to the lower left canine. The lower left segment from the 1st premolar to the molar is stabilized and a 19×19 TMA intrusive arch is hooked to the mesial of the lower canine. The follow-up photo shows the right occlusal plane.
- The same principle of an intrusive cantilever spring is applied to the left upper canine.
